Everyone has a blog these days. It is a common occurrence to see links to personal blogs on Facebook or MySpace (though occurring less and less these days as the popularity rises of other social networking sites, and even a mini blog on Twitter). Most of these blogs do not make any money but there are some that have really nailed down the process to make money. They know the top tips to making money with blogs.

Tip one is to blog about relevant information. If you have a website or product that you want to promote, you need to blog about the information found on your website. You need to get your information out to the public. Many websites feature small blurbs or blog posts that bring attention to the products or services the company or person is offering. You need to do the same. If you are selling architectural services then you need to be blogging about architecture and your credibility. You are basically selling yourself and your blog is the medium that allows you to convey the information. So make sure your blog is well written and informative. It should draw people in and make them curious about what you are selling or promoting.

Tip two is keeping your blog engaging. Yes, this was mentioned above, but it cannot be reiterated enough. Nothing is worse than reading a technical manual online. Reading information on the internet is different than a magazine or a periodical. Paragraphs should be shorter and not as complex. You can still make it technical but make it easily understandable. Do not lose people to too many technical terms. Make sure and keep each paragraph to no more than six sentences or so before breaking and going to the next paragraph. You can elaborate more later.

Tip three is to use advertisements correctly. If you have a blog promoting Christian books, then you do not want affiliate banners on your blog that are completely unrelated to the theme of your blog. That will lose your audience very quickly. If you are selling baby products then make sure your affiliate programs are baby related. You will make money from the ads and will get people interested in what you are promoting as well. It really is a win-win situation for you and for the affiliate programs you promote as well. You may even want to offer an affiliate program of your own to draw in more customers and advertisers. That is cash in your pocket or bank account.

The last tip is a bit more complicated. You have to know how to optimize your blog for the search engines (called SEO). Also, how to get traffic and attract more visitors to your blog.
